Financial Support
& Āwhina Fund

We understand that on occasion, families may need assistance in meeting the costs of various aspects of school life.

WHS operates the Āwhina Fund, the Māori word for 'help'. This fund is designed to assist families cover the costs of almost any aspect of school life, such as uniform, 'BYOD' devices and extra-curricular trips. Please note that BYOD funding may be either 50% or 100% - if the school funds the BYOD device fully, the laptop remains school property and must be handed back when the student leaves school or no longer needs it.

The Āwhina Fund is supported by the WHS Foundation. Please note: Retrospective funding will not be considered.

If you would like to access Āwhina fund, please fill out this form for General requests (Uniform, Extra-curricular etc), or this form for BYOD; or contact our Guidance Counsellor to arrange a confidential meeting.
