Mountain Biking
Overview

Mountain biking at WHS is made up of confident riders in Downhill, Enduro and Cross Country disciplines. Riders compete as individuals in the Otago/Southland, South Island and New Zealand School MTB Champs each year. We are proud to boast some of the best riders in New Zealand, with some going on to compete overseas, gain professional contracts and represent New Zealand at the elite level.

Many students are interested in mountain biking at WHS. A number are members of the Queenstown MTB Club and have Skyline or Coronet Peak passes and ride regularly. There are also great development opportunities for students who would like coaching to build knowledge, skills and confidence to ride competitively and for fun.
