Overview
Pickleball is a dynamic paddle sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It has been the fastest-growing sport in the United States in recent years, driven by how easy it is to learn, its strong social appeal, and its suitability for players of all ages and fitness levels.
This trend is also clear in Queenstown and the wider Otago region. The Queenstown Pickleball Club promotes pickleball throughout the Whakatipu area, with regular community sessions at venues such as the Queenstown Events Centre, where indoor and outdoor courts attract players of varying ages and skill levels. The club is also working with Wakatipu High School to deliver pickleball coaching sessions for students and staff.
