Current Year Fees and Payments
When determining our fees, we take account of the Ministry of Education's guidelines around the items and activities for which state schools are permitted to charge.

We ask that families pay for items such as:
  • Optional school trips
  • 'Take-home' items
  • Special events

Payment of Fees and Donations
Wherever known, fees and donations are added at the start of each year although student subject changes and other circumstances may result in fees and donations being added later in the year.

Fees and donations can be paid by direct payment to our bank account, over the counter in cash or EFTPOS/credit card at the School Office, by regular automatic payment or through the School Portal.

Our bank details can be found on  each invoice that we send to you.

School Donations
As a Decile 10 school, the amount of money provided to WHS by the Government is much less than many other schools receive. Whilst we are fortunate to have the Branches Trust and WHS Foundation as other sources of financial support,  we also rely heavily on school donations to supplement these central funds.

School donations are voluntary and can  be made in any amount. We are grateful  if parents will consider supporting the school in this way.

Payments are tax-deductible for donors. Please contact our finance team if you would like to obtain a receipt for your donation for tax purposes.

Financial Support and Awhi Fund
We understand that on occasion, families may need assistance in meeting the costs of various aspects of school life.

WHS operates the Awhi Fund, named for the Maori word for 'help'. This fund is designed to assist families cover the costs of almost any aspect of school life, such as uniform, items, 'BYOD' devices, camps and school/extra-curricular trips.

The Awhi Fund is supported by the WHS Foundation.

If you would like to access Awhi funds, please fill out this form; or contact our Guidance Counsellors  to arrange a confidential meeting.

Stationery
Families are responsible for providing stationery items for student use.

OfficeMax provides a service to WHS that includes:
  • Multiple ordering options
  • Competitive pricing
  • Free delivery for orders over $57.50
  • Different payment options

All orders placed through OfficeMax also earn rewards for the school.

To place your order, go  online here and search for Wakatipu High School.
