The WHS Foundation was established in 2013 to bring the community together to support the school in delivering a great all-round education. We are humbled by the fact that the Foundation has supported us with over $1.1 million in that time, and very grateful for the generous support of many supportive community members and local businesses who have supported the Foundation and WHS.
The Foundation’s support has provided funding for a range of initiatives including our Awhi Fund (see below) and academic achievement, as well as leadership development and strategic resourcing which have enabled us to successfully deliver a great all-round education to our students as we have progressed and grown.

The Foundation and the Wakatipu community which supports it, has a real and significant impact on our students and the school. Learn more about the Foundation’s work and how you can get involved by visiting their website.

Awhi Fund

‘Awhi’ means to nurture or support, and our Awhi Fund is used for a wide range of things which families may struggle with financially, including uniform, BYOD devices, school trips, educational assessments and even some extracurricular activities. Funding is in partnership with families and their ability to contribute. Awhi is very generously funded by the WHS Foundation. Our Guidance Counsellor is the key contact for further information and confidential applications.
