A Reader/Writer has an important job of role at WHS. Your assistance makes a big difference to these students’ lives.
The aim of the Reader/Writer is to assist the candidate to overcome their learning difficulty during an assessment activity for both internal and external examinations, and for practice assessments.
You may be reading the activity brief or questions for the candidate, or writing for the candidate, or reading and writing for the candidate.
Full training is provided for these paid roles.
Please be advised that potential Reader/Writers will be required to:
Sign a police vetting consent form. Collect from the WHS office or download from the NZ Police website.
Bring two forms of ID in accordance with the police vetting guide to the WHS office to be sighted. The most common forms of ID are passport and drivers license.
Provide the name and contact details for at lease one referee to complete a Safety Check required under the Children's Act.
